End of year information

The Studio of Dance.
Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled time. Come in wearing your tights for your first picture under your street clothes with hair and makeup done. Change into your costume here, do not wear your costumes in your car. Bring your dance bags so you have all your proper shoes. Both bathrooms and the Green Room will be open for changing. We can close off the kitchen area as well if needed.
Makeup: wear enough makeup to be seen under bright lights as the lights tend to wash all features out. At the very least wear eyeshadow, blush and lipstick.
Hair: hair needs to be off the face and neck and neatly held in place using bobby pins, hair spray, gel, mouse, etc. Check with your teacher for specifics on style and hair pieces. All head pieces must be tightly secured.
Tights: All ballet dances are to wear pink dance tights. All other styles of dance should wear dance tights that match your skin tone. If you need help, ask Ms. Karen ASAP. Please make sure that you are wearing true dance tights: Capezio, Bloch, SoDanca (please no “Stelle” brand). It is best to not wear underwear with your tights/costume: if you must, we need to not be able to see it.
Costume day is a great time (especially since there is no formal dress rehearsal this year) to make sure that you have all your costumes and accessories, know which tights and shoes go with which costume, what hair styles you need and their respective hair pieces.
Group photos will be taken first at the scheduled time. Any individual and sibling photos will be done after the group. All pictures will be in a digital format and sent to your email where you can choose which you would like to purchase directly from the photographer.
All families receive 4 tickets to the end of year recital. More tickets will be available for purchase as we get closer to the event. Tickets will be $15.00 in advance and $20.00 at the door.

All dancers are to arrive between 5:00 and 5:30. The show will start at 6:30pm.
Please enter at the stage doors on the right side as you are facing the front of the building.
We have hired a dance video specialist, Everclear Video Productions, to film our recital. All families will get a link (that will be shareable) to the final product about 4-6 weeks after the show. There is to be NO PHOTOGRAPHY OF ANY KIND during the performance. Please use this opportunity to watch your dancer in real time, not virtual and not from behind a lens.
Items to note:
Do not wear costumes to the school. There are dressing rooms with lighted mirrors for our use at the college.
The girls will have one dressing room upstairs (we will have designated signs on them)
The boys/men will have the other
Those with 4 or more costume changes (and the Adult classes) will be in the green room downstairs backstage.
Please have hair and make-up done and costumes on at least 45 minutes before show time
All dancers must wear appropriate colored dance tights (no underwear, see picture day info) with their costumes and the appropriate shoes
Pink dance tights for ballet with pink ballet (pointe) shoes
Skin toned dance tights for tap, jazz, contemporary and hip hop unless otherwise discussed with the teacher in class
A few reminders/notes:
The show will be a little more than 1 hour. Please feel free to provide your dancer with a small snack and water to tide them over during the show. NOTE, there will be no intermission.
There are designated dressing areas for girls and boys. There are to be NO males (sorry Dads) at all in any of the girls’ changing areas. Once the dancers are changed, they are to wait with their class.
All dancers should arrive between 5:00 and 5:30 and enter through the stage doors (on right) to get ready. Parents are to help their child get ready, take them to the “holding area” (red room upstairs) and then go to the auditorium (out the stage doors and then around to the front) to enjoy the show. The stage (side) doors will be locked at 5:45 before the start of the show for security reasons so please be prompt.
The front doors will open at 5:30 and the auditorium doors at 6:00, not before (COLLEGE RULES).
